The Ombudsman of Sint Maarten, Dr. Nilda Arduin, will be attending the annual IOI Board of Directors meeting scheduled to be held from the 21 – 23 September, 2015 in Windhoek, Namibia.
Dr. Arduin is one the directors of the Latin America and Caribbean Region represented on this board. The meeting will be chaired by the President of the IOI and Ombudsman of Namibia, Mr. John Walters. The board meeting will be attended by representatives from among others: Thailand, Argentina, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Australia, Sweden, Canada, Korea, China, Africa, United Kingdom, USA and New Zealand.
Anti-Corruption Training
As member of the IOI Board, Dr. Arduin was instrumental in bringing the Anti-Corruption Training that was held during the 8th Biennial Caribbean Ombudsman Association (CAROA) Conference in Willemstad, Curaçao in May of this year. The Anti-Corruption Training was sponsored by the International Ombudsman Institute and was also attended by members of Parliament upon the invitation of Dr. Arduin.
