At the end of an investigation a report is made of the findings and recommendations.

Systemic Investigation Reports

Based on the National Ordinance Ombudsman, the Ombudsman is authorized to start an investigation on own initiative if the Ombudsman suspects that certain administrative task is structurally not being performed properly.

Constitutional Court

The Ombudsman of Sint Maarten as the ‘Guardian of the Constitution’ has the authority to challenge newly ratified laws, which the Ombudsman considers to be in contravention with the Constitution.
