Survey by the Ombudsman

After being in existence for approximately  four (4) years, the Ombudsman is in the process of evaluating  procedures and operation of the institute in accordance with the Strategic Plan 2011-2021.  Next to our Annual  Information Sessions a PR Campaign is ongoing to increase the awareness of the Institution. This year’s information sessions included a presentation to the candidates and Boards of Political parties, regarding the role of Parliament and Ministerial responsibility in relation to the Ombudsman pursuant to the Constitution.

Engaging the Services of a Consultant

In order to take stock of our services towards the public of Sint Maarten, and the effectiveness of our operation, the Ombudsman engaged the services of a consultant to conduct surveys among the public, the Ministries of government and entities with public authority  to ascertain the awareness of the people and stakeholders regarding the existence of the Institution. Feedback is sought from the ministries, public entities and the public regarding  our complaint procedures to improve efficiency, effectiveness and our service to the people.

The surveys are being conducted by JS Consultancy Services. Cooperation of the public, Ministers and civil servants  is being sought to make this effort a success when approached by interviewers in the period September  3rd 2014 until September 13th 2014.

To take part in our survey you can go to the Ombudsman website: www.ombudsman.sx
