PHILIPSBURG……………, Dr. Nilda Arduin left Sint Maarten on August 12th 2014 to attend the follow up meeting of I.L.O.(International Latino Americano del Ombudsman) in Cali, Colombia.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
At the IOI Board meeting in New York it was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between CAROA and the Instituto Latino Americano del Ombudsman (I.L.O.) to improve communication and closer cooperation within the region.
As I.O.I. Board of Director, representing the Latin America and Caribbean regions, Dr. Arduin was instrumental in having this MOU effectuated between these two parties.

The Ombudsman, Dr. Arduin was invited to give a presentation on her experiences in setting up the Sint Maarten Ombudsman institution. The topic of her presentation is: “Experiences of the Sint Maarten Ombudsman conducting investigations.”
The ILO main office is situated in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is chaired by Mr. Carlos R. Constenla. The president of the CAROA is Mrs. Alba Martijn, Ombudsman of Curacao.
